The center for Cosmology, Particle Physics and Phenomenology (CP3, http://cp3.phys.ucl.ac.be/) of the
Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) invites applications for two positions at
the post-doctoral level to join its involvement in the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The research of the UCL CP3 CMS experimental group is led by profs. G. Bruno, C. Delaere, A. Giammanco, V.
Lemaitre, and K. Piotrzkowski. CMS activities currently focus on physics data analysis, software development for
physics object reconstruction, and upgrade of the CMS detector. Physics data analysis is carried out within the
following CMS groups: beyond-two-generations, electroweak, exotica, forward, Higgs, and top quark. UCL hosts
one of the Tier-2 centers of the LHC computing GRID and physics studies are pursued in close collaboration with
theoreticians within the CP3 center. The UCL CMS group significantly contributed to the design and construction
of the CMS silicon strip tracker detector and was deeply involved in its commissioning since the early stages.
Applicants must have (or expect to receive soon) a Ph.D. in particle physics. The selected candidates are expected
to be based in Belgium with possibility of extended stays at CERN. Appointments are for three years with
possibility of future extensions depending on availability of funds. The positions are open to candidates of any
