Qualifications

The applicants must have achieved a Norwegian doctorate in Physics/Microelectronics or equivalent abroad by the closing date for applications.

The successful applicant is expected to have a strong research record in microelectronics, if possible, focused on instrumentation. Furthermore, the successful applicant is expected to be able to initiate relevant research activities, and conduct research in collaboration with relevant external and internal research partners. This includes defining thesis topics and supervising students in microelectronics at the MSc and PhD level. The applicants should also be able to document the ability to attract external funding.

In the evaluation of the applicants, emphasis will be given to experience in project management, coordination of research activities and strategic research planning. A proven will and ability to work and communicate well with others will also be emphasised.

Basic teaching training is a requirement. The successful candidate will be offered appropriate training if this requirement has not been met before the appointment.

The teaching language will normally be Norwegian.

Salary

Starting salary at grade 57 in the Civil Service pay grade table (code 1011/pay framework 24.1); currently NOK 482,800 gross p.a. Automatic salary increases will occur at fixed intervals within the pay framework (wage range 57–65). In the case of particularly highly qualified applicants a higher salary may be considered.

Associate professors employed on a permanent basis have the opportunity to apply for personal advancement to professor according to competence. Annual closing date for such applications is 15 September.
